'This Is' NOT 'Us'; NBC Hit Ends After Next Season; Here's The Why (& How!)

'Teen Kate' Hannah Zelle

It was just announced that next season of the NBC hit series "This Is Us" - its sixth - will be its final. Fans are in an uproar, including Vinnie P.

The Project hosted Jack himself, Milo Ventimiglia, just as the series launched, and only a few months ago welcomed 'Teen Kate' herself, Hannah Zelle, to the show. (Both are spectacular interviews and can be found by seeking them out in the podcasts section.)

Back in 2019, "This Is Us" had been renewed for seasons 4, 5, & 6 all in one shot. And that came with a statement from the show's creator that they already knew how the series would end. So none of this should be much of a surprise...yet it somehow is.

Maybe because the series never faltered. Never once. The life of The Pearsons fascinates viewers, and every time one mystery is solved, another is cued up (case in point: How Jack died, but wait...his brother is still alive?).

An episode count for the final season has not been set, but it’s expected to consist of about 18 installments.

We all know it will wrap up by Rebecca's bedside, as she slips further and further into dementia. There's already been the glimpse of a strange car pulling into the driveway, with the characters, and the actors who play them, alluding to who is IN that car being a real shocker.

VP says it's Jack! He didn't die after all. When Rebecca left him, albeit briefly, in that hospital room after he inhaled all that smoke (rescuing the family dog, no less), his dog tags got jiggled. Jack was rushed out of that hospital to become a government operative.

You'll see.
