Yes, I managed to cross paths with the Vice President on Friday when she was in New Haven, her entourage seen here later at Sally's, the Wooster Street institution. There was considerable fanfare surrounding Kamala Harris, and with it some chaos. I've seen former Presidents visit the Elm City and not get nearly half this level of attention.
People were shouting questions at her, all of a political nature, when our paths converged in New Haven. She appeared uninterested in answering anything of a political nature at the moment, so I went for levity, hoping she'd deem that a relief and even respite. She did.
"Doesn't this pizza war Governors are having make you cringe?" I asked. "No," was her answer. "Does it make you?" "Yes" was mine. Then, as she bolted for the confines of her transportation, I followed up with "Do you agree ham and pineapple are quality toppings?" She laughed. "I sure do!"
