Aaron Judge is the new single-season American League Home Run King. Judge hit his 62nd Home Run of the season, breaking Roger Maris' mark of 61 Home Runs back in 1961. Maris' record had stood up for 61 years! Judge is a free agent at the end of the season. Judge hit his Home Run in a 3-2 loss to the Texas Rangers in the 2nd game of a Doubleheader.
The Yankees won the first game of the Doubleheader 5-4.
The Mets swept a Doubleheader from the Nationals, winning Game 1 4-2 and taking Game 2 8-0. The Mets however, will now play in a Wild Card Series against the Padres. The Atlanta Braves won the NL East by beating the Marlins 2-1.
The Red Sox beat the Rays 6-0 in a rain shortened 4 1/2 inning game. Xander Bogaerts hit a Grand Slam Home Run for Boston.
