A trip to Guilford Wednesday - CIAC State Softball Tournament - Class L 2nd Round - Fitch at Guilford
Runs and hits were at a premium - and I saw a great pitcher's duel.
Charlotte Cabral for Fitch vs. Sophia Meade for Guilford. Both were outstanding.
As for the game, Fitch scored an unearned run in the 4th and Cabral made it stand up as the Falcons nipped the Grizzlies 1-0 to advance to the Class L Quarterfinals on Friday and will face Avon. Fitch is the #14 seed.
Charlotte Cabral, a Junior, allowed just 3 hits and had 7 strikeouts.
Sophia Meade, a Sophmore, allowed 6 hits and had 11 strikeouts.
