A trip to Eastieville - Girls Softball - Amity at East Haven - and it was a dandy
The game had the feel of a Playoff Game - every pitch, every out, every play - along with a great crowd - gave this game a Playoff type atmosphere
The only run of the game came in the 1st inning by the Spartans.
Kylee McLain was hit by a pitch, went to third on a sacrifice bunt by Cosette Zito, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Hannah Fletcher.
Freshman Pitcher, Amara Forstrom, did the rest. Forstrom pitched a complete game 5 hit shutout and had 5 strikeouts to get the win 1-0.
East Haven outhit Amity 5-4.
The Yellow Jackets best chance to score came in the 3rd inning when they loaded the bases with 1 out. But Forstrom induced Arielle Dupree to hit into an inning ending double play.
Emilee Bishop pitched well in defeat, giving up 4 hits and had 9 strikeouts.
