I made a solo trip out to Beacon Falls Tuesday to check out Oxford at Woodland in Girls Softball.
There is only 1 way to sum up this game -Woodland Pitcher - Samantha Sosnovich.
Sosnovich pitched a NO HITTER and had 14 strikeouts(ironically 2 K's in each inning) which helped Woodland beat Oxford 11-0.
Woodland scored at least 1 run in each of their 6 At Bats.
Sosnovich also had 2 hits and an rbi, but she had plenty of help.
Riley Kane had 3 hits and 3 rbis, Cassidy Doiron had an rbi and Peyton Filippone had 2 hits and 2rbis.
Sosnovich walked 3 in the game, but 1 batter was erased trying to steal.
Woodland is a very solid team - 1 to 9 in their batting order, play great defense and have solid pitching.
Don't dismiss the Oxford Wolverines though - they will be just fine despite the loss.
