Monday's Broadcast - the SCC Girls Tournament Semifinals at Law High School
Game 1 - Hand beat Mercy 42-36, their 3rd win over Mercy this season - not an easy thing to do and it did not come easy.
Hand led 10-6 after 1 quarter and 22-15 at the Half. But Mercy came roaring back outscoring Hand 13-6 in the 3rd quarter and tying the game 28-28 going into the 4th quarter; it was back and forth for most of the quarter, but down the stretch, Hand made the key baskets and made just enough foul shots to win the game 42-36,
For Hand - Natalie Lucas led the way with 10 points, Coco Rourke had 8 points(and was outstanding defensively); Hand though was 7 for 16 from the foul line
For Mercy - Sophie Hedge led Mercy with 13 points and Ava Giansiracusa had 10 points; Mercy was 11 for 17 from the foul line
Game 2 - Sacred Heart Academy broke away from West Haven in the 2nd Half and defeated the Blue Devils 62-39 also beating them for the 3rd time this season
SHA led 16-13 after 1 quarter and 28-23 at the Half. But the Sharks came out and dominated the 2nd Half, outscoring West Haven 34- 16
SHA - Rosa Rizzitelli had 19 points, Sydney Rossacci had 12 points and Meghan Kirck had 11 points(3 3's); the Sharks were 16 for 20 from the foul line
West Haven - Amani Abuhatab had 19 points and Dea Howard 7 points; the Blue Devils were 8 for 12 from the foul line
WEDNESDAY'S BROADCAST - SCC Girls Tournament Championship - Hand vs. SHA III 6:55pm on 960AM, 96.9FM & iheartradio
These 2 teams split their 2 regular season games - each team winning on their Home Court - the 3rd meeting will be at a neutral site
