A battle at the Bennett Rink - Glastonbury(4-9) West Haven(2-10) 2 teams hungry for a win
Glastonbury, the Guardians, are in Division 2. The top 16 teams with the best records will qualify for the CIAC State Tournament.Glastonbury is currently the 16th seed. Glastonbury is 0-3 against Division 1 teams.
West Haven, the Blue Devils, are in Division 1. All D1 teams automatically qualify for the State Tournament. 14 teams are eligible(Fairfield Warde/Ludlowe is not eligible because they would not dissolve their coop - they went over the allowed number of players - Warde went over and would not leave out the Ludlowe players so they cannot participate)
The Blue Devils are currently the 14th seed. They are 1-2 against D2 teams.
I don't believe there is a big disparity between D1 and D2 teams, in fact I ask the question - "How many TRUE Division 1 teams are there?" Even more, there is little difference between many of the D2 and D3 teams.
All that being said, I look for a good battle tonight.
