Red Sox Beat Yankees in 10; Olympics: Opening Ceremonies, USA Softball Wins


In MLB Thursday, the Red Sox beat the Yankees 5-4 in 10 innings. The Yankees led 3-1 but Boston tied it with 2 outs in the 9th on a double by Enrique Hernandez.

The Yanks took a 4-3 lead in the 10th but the Red Sox took advantage of 4 Wild Pitches, in 1 ining, by Yankees reliever Brooks Kriske to win 5-4. Hunter Renfroe drove in the game winning rbi on a Sac Fly.

The Mets had Thursday off.

Friday night is the Opening Ceremonies at the Games.

The USA Softball Team won again in Pool Play, beating Canada 1-0. Monica Abbott pitched a 1 hitter and had 9 strikeouts. The USA is 2-0 in Pool Play.
