A solo trip to Piurek Field on Tuesday - Hamden taking on West Haven in Senior Legion(19u) play.
Hamden got a run in the 1st on an rbi double from winning pitcher Jake Jovia. Hamden added 3 runs in the 3rd on 4 hits and some shoddy West Haven defense and led 4-0. The game was basically over then as Hamden scored 3 runs in the 4th, 1 in the 5th and 2 in the 7th for a very convincing 10-1 victory over West Haven.
Jake Jovia, not only was the winning pitcher, but at the plate, had a single, double, 2 triples, scored 3 runs and had 2 rbis. Malcolm Benton had 2 singles and a triple, scored 3 runs and had an rbi, Luis Roman had 2 hits, scored 2 runs and had an rbi, Angel Rivera had 2 hits and an rbi for Hamden.
For West Haven, Damian Gazzaneo had 2 hits, Anthony Peschell had a double and scored a run and Hunter Axelrod drove in the lone West Haven run with a Sac Fly.
