A trip to Shelton Monday - CIAC State Softball Tournament Class LL - Ridgefield at Shelton
Shelton took advantage of 11 walks and 2 hit batsmen and defeated the Tigers 11-5.

Shelton 11 runs 3 hits 8 left on base
Ridgefield 5 runs 15 hits 12 left on base
The Gaels scored 3 runs in the 1st, 7 runs in the 2nd - all on 2 hits
Ridgefield gave out 8 walks and hit 2 batters in the first 2 innings.
Shelton did get a 2 run triple from Alexis Resto and a 2 run double from Jackie Jenco in between all the walks.
Ridgefield got a 2 run single from Skylar Arent, Caroline Imbrogno had 3 hits, including 2 doubles and an rbi, and Madalen Brown had 3 hits and an rbi for the Tigers.
Ridgefield also left 12 runners on base - and left the bases loaded twice!
Julia Krijgsman was the winning pitcher. Shelton will host Glastonbury in the 2nd Round on Wednesday.
West Haven, Amity, Mercy, Foran, Lyman Hall, Naugatuck, Wolcott, Jonathan Law, Seymour, Watertown and Ansonia all advanced to the next Round in their Classes
In the State Baseball Tournament: Shelton, Hamden, Fairfield Prep, West Haven, Hand, ND(WH), North Haven, Lyman Hall, Sheehan, Woodland, Watertown, North Branford and Coginchaug all advanced to the next Round.
Wednesday, I will be out covering a Softball game again - some of the possibilities include: Trumbull at Cheshire, Newtown at Amity or Killingly at East Haven
I will be at 1 of those games, bringing a plaque, a certificate for Hot Dogs and Hamburgers and my Scorecard
The 2nd Round is on Wednesday - the winners will advance to the Quarterfinals on Friday
