Monday's Broadcast - Girls Basketball - Wilbur Cross at Hand in an SCC Tournament Semifinal Game.
I knew this game would be a dandy and go right down to the wire. Indeed it did, The game lived up to its billing from start to finish.
Cross led 11-8 after the 1st Quarter and 22-21 at the Half. Cross led 32-30 after 3 Quarters, but it was still nip and tuck throughout the game.
Cross led 38-36 with 2.3 seconds left in the game, but a foul was called on Cross and it sent Hand to the Foul Line for a 1 and 1. Hand made the first but missed the second and Cross then held on for the 1 point victory 38-37.
Jaylice Rosario led the Governors with 17 points while Madison Mcaulay added 9 points for Cross.
Hadley Houghton led the Tigers with 9 points.
Wilbur Cross will face Hamden, a 51-41 winner over Sheehan, for the Championship on Thursday.
In Division 2 Semifinals: SHA 76 Cheshire 50; West Haven 48 North Haven 39
West Haven will play SHA for the Division 2 Championship on Thursday as well.
