In Women's College Basketball, Quinnipiac begins another season facing Providence in Hamden also on Wednesday.

The New Orleans Pelicans have signed forward Brandon Ingram to a 5 year $158 million dollar contract extension.
The Miami Heat have signed Bam Adebayo to a 5 year $163 million dollar contract extension.
MLB
The Atlanta Braves have signed Pitcher Charlie Morton to a 1 year contract worth $15 million dollars. Morton had pitched the last 2 seasons for the Tampa Bay Rays.
NFL
Peyton Manning, Calvin Johnson and Charles Woodson are among the 25 semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The list will be trimmed to 15 finalists. The 2021 class of inductees will be announced before Super Bowl LV in February. The class is scheduled to officially enter the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio on August 8, 2021.
