Wednesday is the final day of the regular season in the CtEBA 19u Division. Orange and Madison are tied for 1st place. Orange, however, will win the regular season championship with a victory over North Haven even if Madison wins as well. That is because Orange defeated Madison twice in the regular season. The League Tournament will begin Friday with the play in games. The seedings will be revealed Wednesday night.
I made a solo trip to Piurek Field Tuesday night to see Madison and West Haven. West Haven took a 1-0 lead in the 3rd on an rbi single from Michael Boni. But Madison answered with 5 runs in the top of the 4th and went on to a 6-3 victory. Aiden Patrick was the winning pitcher, a complete game. Ken Nuzzi had 2 hits, scored 2 runs and had 2 stolen bases. Andy Weinstein had 2 hits and an rbi, and Jared Kuryan had an rbi for Madison.
For West Haven, Tyler Jones had 3 hits and scored 2 runs, Michael Boni had 3 hits and an rbi and Dylan Supan had 2 hits for West Haven.
Then I hung around as Hamden and West Haven had to complete their suspended game from July 7th. They had played 11 innings that night and it ended in a 1-1 tie. They played 4 more innings Wednesday night before West Haven scored on a wild pitch in the 15th for a 2-1 victory.
