The Yankees defeated the Nationals 4-1 in the opening game of the 2020 baseball season. The game was called because of rain in the top of the 6th inning. Gerrit Cole was the winning pitcher. Giancarlo Stanton homered and singled and had 3 rbis for New York. Adam Eaton homered for the National's run.
In the other game on Thursday, the Dodgers beat the Giants 8-1.
MLB has expanded their playoffs for the 2020 season from 10 to 16 teams.
The NHL's newest expansion team will be called the Seattle Kraken. Seattle is the NHL's 32nd team and is expected to play in the 2021-22 season. The team colors will be light blue and navy.
The Washington Redskins will have an interim name - the Washington Football Team. Their colors will remain the same - burgundy and gold.
