A solo trip to Piurek Field Thursday night to see Wallingford and West Haven. It was 2-1 Wallingford after 1 inning and then the game turned one sided - Wallingford scored 15 unanswered runs and cruised past West Haven 17-1. Wallingford is 4-3, West Haven 5-2.
Parker Hunter was the winning pitcher allowing 1 run and 1 hit over 4 innings. But he also had a great game at the plate. Hunter had 3 hits, scored 2 runs and had 2 rbis. Evan Wilkinson had a triple and 2 rbis and Aidan Weir had 2 rbis as well for Wallingford.
An unbelievable stat in the game - 6 West Haven pitchers combined to walk 16 hitters and had 5 hit batsmen - and that was in 6 innings, since the game was called after 6 because of darkness.
