The NFL Players Union ratified a new 10 year contract with the owners on Saturday night. The Vote was 1,019 to 959. Under the new contract, the NFL will increase to 17 games in the regular season and add an extra team in each conference to the Playoffs. The top seed would receive a 1st Round bye and the other 6 teams would play on Wild Card Weekend. The expanded Playoff System would begin in 2020. The active game day roster will expand from 46 players to 48 players.
The NBA executives have been meeting and maybe looking at a mid-June return to the season.
Locally, the CIAC Board of Governors and the Commissioners of all the Conferences will meet Wednesday morning to decide and make a decision on the Spring Sports. Hopefully they will vote to have them even if it means an abbreviated season.
