In MLB Sunday, Justin Verlander pitched a no hitter as the Houston Astros defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 2-0. It was Verlander's 3rd no hitter of his career and his 2nd against the Blue Jays. Verlander had 14 strikeouts in the game.
The Yankees rallied from a 4-0 deficit to beat Oakland 5-4 at Yankee Stadium. Brett Gardner and Mike Ford hit back to back Home Runs in the 9th inning to win it for New York.
The Red Sox edged the Angels 4-3. Xander Bogaerts and J.D. Martinez homered for Boston.
The Mets lost to the Phillies 5-2. Joe Panik and Peter Alonso homered for the Mets. For Alonso, it was his 43rd Home Run of the season.
FIBA World Basketball Championship in China
Team USA 88 Czech Republic 67 Donovan Mitchell led Team USA with 16 points, while Kemba Walker and Harrison Barnes each had 14 points for Team USA. Team USA will play Turkey on Tuesday.
