Senior Legion: North Haven Beats Oakville; Hamden, Cheshire Win

A family trip to North Haven to see Oakville at North Haven in the Senior Legion(19u) State Tournament. This was an elimination game for both teams.

North Haven got the victory 5-3. Zack Pincince had 2 hits, scored a run, and had an rbi, Dave Christoforo had 2 hits and an rbi and Nate Zalegowski homered for North Haven. North Haven will play Stamford Thursday and must beat them twice.

Cameron Defeo had 2 hits and 2 rbis for Oakville.

Hamden beat Washington 4-1 to and advanced to the Super Regionals along with Cheshire, which defeated Danbury 10-0.

Trumbull eliminated Wallingford, winning 3-2 in 11 innings.

In the Junior Legion(17u) State Tournament: North Haven 3 Fairfield 1, Tri-County 6 Meriden 2, Hamden 8 Greenwich 3, Madison 5 Stamford 2

On the Little League scene:

11-12 year old Boys - Congrats to North Haven and Madison for winning their Section Championships; both teams move on to the State Tournament - The Road to Williamsport, Penn.

11-12 year old Girls - Milford has advanced to the Regional Championship and will play Pennsylvania for the Title Thursday. The winner will go to the World Series in Portland, Oregon

13-14 year old Girls - Willy and I made a morning trip to Orange for the Junior League Softball Regional Tournament Semifinal Game between Connecticut(Fairfield) and Delaware

It was a well played game by both teams, but Delaware got the win 2-0 scoring both runs in the 4th inning. Delaware moved on to the Championship to take on New York in a best 2 of 3.

New York took Game 1 4-1. Delaware must defeat New York twice on Thursday.

The winner advances to the Junior League Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington
