Two Championships are set in the CIAC State Softball Tournament.
In Class S, Cogincahug will play Somers.
Monday's Broadcast featured the Class S Semifinals.
Game 1 - Coginchaug scored 4 runs in the top of the 7th inning to erase a 4-1 deficit and give them a 5-4 win over Holy Cross. Dana Boothroyd had 3 hits, scored 3 runs and had the game winning rbis, Izzy Milardo had a single and 2 rbis and Bailey Zettergren had 3 hits and scored a run for Coginchaug.
Val Nobrega had a single and 2 rbis for Holy Cross.
Game 2 - Somers scored early and often in beating Wamogo 14-0. The Spartans pounded out 23 hits! Katryna Dukehart had 3 hits and 3 rbis, Gabby Tullock had 4 hits and an rbi, Kendall McNamee had 3 hits and an rbi and Megan Lafayette had 3 hits and scored 3 runs for Somers.
Mackenzie Hartnett had 2 hits for Wamogo.
So it's Coginchaug and Somers for the "S" Title.
In the Class LL Semifinals, Southington defeated Trumbull 5-2 and Norwich Free Academy beat Cheshire 4-2.
Southington will battle NFA for the "LL" Crown.
The Boys State Tournament Semifinals will be held on Tuesday in all 4 Classes.
