It was memorable night at the Bennett Rink on Wednesday. On a very special night, West Haven retired the number 8 worn by former Westie and New Haven Police Officer Rob Fumiatti, shot in the line of duty, and who later died from complications from his wound. It was a very moving ceremony before a packed house at the Bennett.
Then Amity defeated West Haven 3-1 in a sensational hockey game which had the atmosphere of playoff hockey. Tyler Cole made 34 saves for Amity, Jamie Blum had 2 goals and Connor Bath had the game winner for the Spartans.
Kevin Moriarty scored for West Haven. Amity is 5-1, West Haven 2-5.
