Wally and I made a trip to Sacred Heart Academy on Tuesday to take in SHA and Guilford. They need to put in a shuttle bus for the fans - that long walk down to the field is ok - but coming back up - forget it - no way Wally can make it either. My thanks to Athletic Director George Bedocs for giving Wally and me a ride on his cart back up Mt. Everest.
As for the game, it was scoreless through 5 innings. But in the bottom of the 6th, SHA erupted for 3 runs and beat Guilford 3-0.
Bernadette Kingsbury was the winning pitcher. She also had a double and 2 rbis in that 3 run 6th. But it was Kate Napierkowski who drive in the game winning rbi with a single. Ally Kirck had 2 hits as well and scored the game winning run. Kirck is only a Freshman, an outstanding stick at the plate and she will be a force to be reckoned with.
