Lawmen at Lions - Goralnik's Guesses

It seems like our broadcast schedule has consisted of one rivalry game after another. It certainly doesn't make it easier to pick a winner. Let me recap for you how we've reached this point; an 0-for streak that may go down in the record books. To start the official Studio Predictions, I sided with the home Grizzlies of Guilford against a streaking Lyman Hall team, which led to me falling to 0-1. Speaking of streaks, it's not unfathomable to think the West Haven ladies would snap their losing streak at home on the broadcast debut of their brand new gym. Clearly the moment was too large for the Blue Devils as the Spartans of Amity were able to extend their winning streak as they came, saw, and conquered in West Haven leading to my 0-2 start. Speaking of big moments, who would think that the Titans of Sheehan, with the large Senior class they touted, would not be able to extract revenge on the Trojans of Lyman Hall. Forget that it's the Battle of Wally World; it was a rematch of a State Championship game two years ago that led to the Trojans embarrassing the Titans down at the Ingalls Rink to capture the State Title. Two years later, Lyman Hall still has Sheehan's number and left me free falling to an 0-3 start.

But the 0-for streak ENDS TONIGHT. I have spent a lot of time picking with my heart; picking who I would like to see win because of the storyline or because it would be an upset. I mean, who can really hate on the underdogs and, more importantly, what fun is it picking the best team every time? Well, it would be a lot easier to say that if I wasn't staring at a goose egg in the win column. Don't get me wrong, I get the value of rivalry games and how much it levels the playing field but Foran (0-7) is off to a disastrous start to the year. As much as I want to be sitting here typing about how the Lions of Foran will snap their 7 game losing streak as I snap my own 3 game slide, I'm just not that foolish. We are talking about Jamie Anderson's led Lawmen. Coach Anderson is far to good of a coach to let his boys come into this game already looking past it.

For that reason, it's my personal Goralnik Guarantee that the Jonathan Law Lawmen will come away with the road victory over the Foran Lions.
