Tuesday night saw the battle of the Tech schools as Whitney Tech visited Platt Tech as they renewed their rivalry. Platt Tech, riding a 4 game winning streak that included an 18 point victory against Sheehan, were in control throughout most of the night.
Led by Hummel Hot Dog Player of the Game Tyler Dowdy's 21 points with Keenan Little and Tyquell Cadle each chipping in with 10 each, Platt Tech was able to use their size advantage to win the battle of the boards and keep Whitney at bay anytime they tried to make a run.
Whitney Tech played well for as long as they could, but were not able to overcome missed opportunities as well as early foul trouble. Led by Evan Howard with 18 points (fouled out)and Dashoun Freeman with 10 points, Whitney Tech will have a shot at redemption when the two school meet for the rematch in Hamden later this month.
