We spoke with Joslyn DeLancey, Vice President of the Connecticut Education Association about how CEA supports educators across Connecticut and removes barriers to teaching and learning. Joslyn talked about the Holiday Bear Project that provides holiday gifts to students.
The Holiday Bear Project originated in the 1990s to stop teachers from using personal funds to meet student needs. The purpose is to ensure students experiencing hardship can receive holiday gifts and share in seasonal joy. It is based on teacher nominations and teacher-curated wish lists for students.
