Renee's Adoptables: Meet Spice!

Meet Spice, a 2 year, 11 month old, 40 lb terrier/ lab mix that is sure to warm your heart. She is a very loving and intelligent young lady who has impeccable house manners. Spice is also quite agile and athletic too. She would make a great outdoor companion, training buddy, and couch cuddler.

Spice is house trained. She is working on her crate training and leash skills. Spice is dog selective and doesn’t do well with the stress of another off leash dog. She would be best as the only dog in her home.

Spice was was found as a local stray here in CT. She already has great manners and has quickly adapted to her new surroundings. This happy pup will be thrilled to find a furrever family to love on. Being a rescued pooch, Spice will thrive in a home with routines in place for her house, crate and leash training. The perfect home for this sweet girl will be filled with patience and understanding as she learns the routines and rules of her new home. She is very smart and would enjoy training classes. With the right person or family, this wonderful gal, will quickly go from stray dog to best buddy and companion for life.

The adoption fee for Spice is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.

About Dog Star Rescue

Dog Star Rescue, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, is a dog rescue organization based out of the Hartford CT area. We work closely with shelters in the South as well as New England states to save the lives of loving and loyal dogs who have lost their way and find themselves on death row. Our team of wonderful volunteers get these adoptable dogs the medical and emotional care they need so they can transition into a loving forever home. To date we’ve placed over 4,000 dogs with new families.

All of our amazing volunteers are unpaid and donate their time because of their passion for helping dogs. They spend significant time each week helping guide dogs to a wonderful new life. If you ask our volunteers, they’ll tell you they do it for a wide variety of reasons, including personal satisfaction in helping address a nationwide problem, their love of dogs, and a desire to have fun socializing with like-minded people. Dog Star is always looking for new volunteers to join our group, so if you would like to be a part of our organization, please check out our Volunteer Opportunities page.
