The Cleveland Guardians are aiming to extend their lead in the American League Championship Series (ALCS) against the Tampa Bay Rays tonight in Game 4. After a thrilling 3-2 victory on Thursday (October 15), the Guardians now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-seven series. According to MLB.com, the Guardians' win was powered by a standout performance from Gavin Williams and a decisive home run by Petey Halpin.

Williams, who struck out nine batters over five innings, has been a key player for Cleveland, with his postseason strikeout percentage reaching historic levels. Halpin's two-run homer in the fifth inning was a pivotal moment, sending the Progressive Field crowd into a frenzy, as reported by Fox 8 Cleveland.

The Rays, who led the American League with 98 wins this season, are now under pressure to bounce back. Manager Kevin Cash emphasized the need for his team to improve their hitting, as they managed only two runs on two hits in Game 3. Junior Caminero, a rising star for Tampa Bay, acknowledged the need for adjustments, stating, "We have to make adjustments. That’s plain and simple," according to ESPN.

The Guardians are looking to capitalize on their momentum and the support of their home crowd. Manager Stephen Vogt praised the fans, saying, "The crowd was unbelievable," and noted how the team's energy is fueled by their supporters.

Game 4 is scheduled for Friday (October 16) at 6 p.m. ET, but weather forecasts suggest possible rain, which could lead to a scheduling change. The winner of the ALCS will face the Milwaukee Brewers, who have already secured their spot in the World Series after sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers.
