Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, was not insured by the company UnitedHealth Group said. Mangione, 26, is accused of fatally shooting Thompson on a New York City street on December 4. He was arrested at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, after an employee recognized him from police-distributed photos.

Mangione faces multiple charges, including murder and weapon possession. He was found with a 3D-printed gun and fake IDs.

The investigation revealed that Mangione had written documents referring to the healthcare industry, with phrases like "these parasites simply had it coming." New York Police Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny suggested that Mangione may have targeted Thompson due to UnitedHealthcare's prominence as the largest healthcare organization in America, though there is no evidence he was ever a client.

Mangione is currently held in Pennsylvania, facing extradition to New York. His next court hearing is scheduled for December 23. He intends to plead not guilty to all charges, according to his attorney.
