RIP Brian Dennehy, CT's Own Revered Actor

Born in Bridgeport, and passing away April 15 of this week here in New Haven, Brian Dennehy was a force to be reckoned with on stage AND screen (even the little one in your living room). A two-time Tony Award winner, Dennehy was no stranger to the Long Wharf Theatre stage, and if he was scheduled to be in a show there you could bet I'd be on hand as well, so captivating was he. I once caught him do a one-man show there and left thinking one simply has to have a presence like his to be that compelling and captivating in a show starring one. He was a force of nature.

While many film-lovers will be sure to mention "First Blood," "Cocoon," or even "Tommy Boy," I'd like to leave you with this clip of Dennehy at his best - in a gem from 1985 called "Silverado," also starring Kevin Kline and a then-unknown Kevin named Costner.
