Shelton at Foran - Girls Basketball - 12/15/17

While most of the students were home early due to the snowfall that came down late Friday night, the girls of Foran and Shelton came with some heat to warm up the beginning of their basketball seasons.

Foran, led by Lauren Heenan (11pts), made a game of it with tying the game with less than 5 minutes to go on the strength of Jade Lord's (9pts) 2 free throws. However, an immediate 6-0 run right after would not only demoralize Foran, but also put them in a hole they couldn't play their way out of and eventually be their undoing.

Shelton, led by Leya Vohra(13 pts) who was the Hummel Hotdog Player of the Game, was able to weather the storm to come away with the victory. With Vohra's steady guard play, leadership, and solid defense , the girls of Shelton are looking to make some strides this season towards a possible playoff berth. Add in the interior play of their center Reem Abdel-Hack(7pts, 2 blocks), the Lady Gaels are a tough out for any team.
