North Haven at Hand - 11/28/17 - CT Quarterfinals

What a team performance for Daniel Hand in the first round of the playoffs! They hosted the formidable North Haven Indians and completely man-handled the well coach team. The Tigers got off to a hot start offensively putting up a couple of TD forcing the pressure on the visitors. As expected, North Haven answered back and cut the lead to one score. Not phased by the response, Hand tacked on another score extending the lead to 14. The Indians would score again late in the 2nd quarter to cut the Hand lead to 21-13. The missed extra point officially made it an 8 point game at halftime but it was more of an indicator of what we would see from North Haven in the 2nd half. Led by Brian Casagrande, the Daniel Hand defense shutout North Haven's Offense and blanked them for the rest of the game. Coincidentally but to no surprise for anyone who has seen or heard about a Hand game, Casagrande also led the Tigers offense to an explosive finish to secure a State Quarterfinals victory. With the win, it sets up a second Daniel Hand home game in the playoffs, this time against the Windsor Warriors, who defeated Maloney 36-0 earlier in the evening. The semifinal game takes place on Sunday at the Surf Club!
