Foran at Law - 11/23/17 (Thanksgiving) - Week 12

This was a game for the ages, or in other words, an INSTANT CLASSIC. To set the stage for the final week of the regular season, coming into the game Foran Head Coach, Jeff Bevino, announced he will retire from football after 43 years of success. Things are looking good for Bevino to go out on top considering Jonathan Law had not beaten Foran in 10 years. However, the Lawmen had their own secret rocket fuel. Entering the game, Jonathan Law had the opportunity to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in school history!

The Milford rivalry lived up to the hype as this grudge match remained a one score game throughout the entirety. Jonathan Law would take a 13-8 lead into the locker room on the strength of Michael Plaskon's two first-half TDs. The Lions of Foran would roar back on the first play of the 3rd quarter to claim a 14-13 lead. On the back of star QB and the Glenwood Drive-In Top Dog of the Game, Jared Hubler, Foran continued to battle and force Jonathan Law to have to find an answer in order to keep up on the scoreboard. Both teams would trade scores in the 2nd half as word spread that Holy Cross mounted a two touchdown comeback to defeat Wolcott in Waterbury!

With Wolcott losing, Jonathan Law now controlled their own destiny. It's simple... win and get in. The information gave the Lawmen new life as they tied the score at 28 with 3 minutes left in the game! Fueled by the home crowd's energy and the chance to make history for Jonathan Law, Hummel Hotdog Player of the Game, Michael Plaskon, scampered into the endzone for his 3rd TD of the game with about a minute left, clinching not only the 34-28 victory, but the first ever playoff berth in the 50 + year history of Jonathan Law High School!
