Monday's Broadcast - Softball - SCC Tournament Quarterfinals - Cheshire at West Haven - and if you love great defense - this game was for you -there were several great defensive plays in the game - several by West Haven as the Westies beat the Rams 4-1 to advance to the Semifinals on Tuesday and take on East Haven, a 2-0 winner over Shelton.
The Westies scored a run in the 1st on an rbi single by Paige Beurer.
Cheshire scored their only run the 3rd on an rbi single by Jordan Cymbor.
The Blue Devils got 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Brianna Miller singled in what proved to be the game winning run, another scored on a throwing error and the third run on a Sac Fly by Taylor Alfano.
There was no more scoring for the remainder of the game. 4-1 Final.
Grace Lurz had 2 bunt singles for Cheshire.
Mia Rubirosa was the winning pitcher, allowing 1 run on 3 hits.
So the Semifinals are set for Tuesday. Guilford at Jonathan Law; West Haven at East Haven
