Girls Softball Rubirosa Leads Westies Past Sheehan

I made a solo trip to Wallingford(Wally World, named after my last dog Wally) on Monday to take in West Haven at Sheehan in Girls Softball. It was a very exciting and entertaining game. If these 2 teams played 10 games, all ten would be evenly matched and just as exciting.

West Haven scored 2 runs in the 1st on rbi singles by Mel Jimenez and Shyanne Raccio.

Sheehan answered back with 1 run in the 1st on an rbi single from Lauren Lindberg. It stayed that way until the 6th when West Haven's Mia Rubirosa hit a mammoth 2 run Home Run. I've not seen too many Home Runs at Sheehan's field in my career -- maybe 1 or 2 - but this ball might still be going - one of the longest HR's I've ever seen.

That made it 4-1. Sheehan scored a run in the bottom of the 6th on a Passed Ball.

West Haven put the game away with 3 runs in the 7th. One scored on a Passed Ball, another on a Wild Pitch and the 3rd on an rbi single by Hannah Davey.

That's the way it ended - West Haven 7 Sheehan 2 West Haven outhit Sheehan 12-4.

For West Haven - Shyanne Raccio had 3 hits and an rbi, Hannah Davey had 2 hits and an rbi and Brianna Miller had 2 hits and scored a run.

Mia Rubirosa was the winning pitcher and had 8 strikeouts.

For Sheehan - Ryen Wolcheski had a single and scored a run and Reilly Hunter had a double.
