A trip to Wallingford(Wally World, named after my little guy Wally), Tuesday to see West Haven take on Lyman Hall in Girls Softball.
For the 2nd straight day, I saw a gem - another game won in the bottom of the 7th inning.
West Haven had a 3-0 lead after 3 innings on rbis from Juliana Petruzziello and Paige Beurer and a run on an error.
But Lyman Hall battled back. The Trojans scored a run in the 4th, thanks to Callie Chordas, They added 2 runs in the 6th on rbis from Paige Hansen and Alex Tenero to tie the game at 3-3.
Lyman Hall won it in the bottom of the 7th on an error, bunt single, and a walk to load the bases. With 1 out, Emily Chase singled home the game winning run to give Lyman Hall a 4-3 victory. Lyman Hall is 7-4, West Haven 4-4.
For West Haven, Mia Rubirosa had a triple and scored a run and Gianna Cassidy had a double and scored a run.
For Lyman Hall, Alex Tenero was the winning pitcher.
