A Busy News Day - But Nothing From MLB; Yale Golf Course to Remain Closed

It was a busy day for sports news in the NBA, NFL and NHL, but nothing from MLB, the sport we should be hearing from.

Let's start with the NFL.

Starting Friday, NFL Coaches will be allowed to return to their training facilities.

NBA

The NBA Board of Governors voted to approve a 22 team return to play format on Thursday. Portland, Sacramento, New Orleans, San Antonio, Phoenix and Washington will join the current 16 playoff teams. The games will be played at the World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The NBA Lottery will be held August 25th and the NBA Draft will be October 15th.

NHL

The NHL announced their format for the Stanley Cup Playoffs when the 2020 season resumes. The 1st Round, 2nd Round, Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Final will all be Best of 7. The playin and qualifying round will be Best of 5.

WNBA

Rumor has it the WNBA plans to hold games at just 1 location if a season is played this year and it seems that the MGM Resorts in Las Vegas and the IMG Academy in Florida are the top 2 choices.

MLB

It seems there was some news in MLB, but not on the field. Major League Broadcasters won't be joining their teams on the road for the 2020 season. All announcers have been told they will be calling road games from a local studio or at their Home Ballparks.

Other News

The Yale Golf Course will remain closed through at least the end of July.

At least 5 Alabama football players have tested positive for the Coronavirus.
