Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim was dealt a setback late Friday after the state Supreme Court said it would consider an appeal calling for another Democratic primary in the city, one day before the general election. A primary within 24 hours of Election Day. That woulda been interesting. Three Bridgeport residents claim absentee ballot fraud should invalidate Ganim’s primary victory on Sept. 10.
Then something interesting happened: Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy and Rep. Jim Himes released a statement that they were backing Ganim, a fellow Democrat. They even described Bridgeport as "vibrant." Not kidding.
