It was a family trip back to Madison - Senior Legion Regional Qualifier Tournament - Wallingford at Madison - elimination game
Wallingford struck for 4 runs in the 2nd inning and for all intensive purposes, the game was decided. Wallingford won the game 6-0.
The story of this game was simple - Justin Hackett. Hackett pitched 6 1/3 innings, gave up 1 hit and had 7 strikeouts. At the plate, Hackett had a single, SAC Fly, and 3 rbis. He put on a great show for the crowd of people at the game.
Chris Barkasay had 2 hits and an rbi, Zach Blest had a triple and rbi, and Ethan Rosenthal had a single and rbi for Wallingford.
Jack Pireaux had Madison's lone hit. With the loss, Madison is eliminated from the tournament, but will be in the State Tournament next week.
Wallingford will play Thursday against either Greenwich or Meriden. Their game was suspended and will be finished Wednesday.
If Meriden wins, Wallingford will go to Meriden, but if Greenwich wins, Wallingford will host Greenwich at Wall Field.
Either way, I will be at their game on Thursday. It's getting down to the nitty gritty.
But remember - you gotta stay PUMPED UP!
OH BABY!
