Miami Marlins Manager, Don Mattingly, was named National League Manager of the Year on Tuesday. The Marlins reached the postseason for the 1st time since 2003.
Tampa Bay Rays Manager, Kevin Cash, was named American League Manager of the Year. The Rays won the American League East Division and advanced all the way to the World Series, where they were beaten by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Boston Celtics legend, Tommy Heinsohn, who played and coached the team, died at the age of 86. He won 8 NBA Championships as a player and 2 as a Head Coach.
