Mahomes Signs Record Contract; Branford Edges East Haven in CtEBA

Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has signed a record contract extension with the Chiefs. It is a 10 year deal worth $450 million dollars with incentives that could earn him up to $503 million dollars. It is the richest contract in NFL history. The contract will run through the 2031 season. Currently, Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks is the highest paid QB making $35 million dollars a season.

The restart of the NHL season will be August 1st.

The MLB 60 game schedule has been released. The season will start on July 23rd with a Doubleheader. Game 1 will feature the Yankees and the Nationals and Game 2 will be the Giants and the Dodgers. The Mets will open July 24th at home against the Braves and the Red Sox will also open at home against the Orioles on the 24th.

In the CtEBA Monday night:

It was a family trip to Branford - East Haven and Branford - 2nd game of their 2 game series. I thank the Branford coaching staff for allowing me to watch the game from the Branford Press Box. The game was a good one, not a lot of hits but good pitching and good defense.

Branford won the game 2-1, scoring both runs in the 5th inning on a 2 run single by Zach Vandale. Daniel Farricielli was the winning pitcher allowing 1 run and 3 hits and had 10 strikeouts in a complete game performance.

Giro Esposito had 2 of the 3 East Haven hits and Michael O'Connor had the other hit and the East Haven rbi.

Madison nipped Milford 3-2 in 8 innings. Mac Messier was the winning pitcher. Jared Kuryan had 2 rbis and Aiden Patrick had the game winning rbi for Madison, now 3-0. Matthew Wootton had 2 hits and Ryan Gosselin had a double and rbi for Milford.

West Haven edged Hamden 2-1 in 8 innings at Legion Field. Hunter Axelrod was the winning pitcher. Isaiah Wright had 3 hits and Gianni Gambardella drove in the tying run in the top of the 7th with a double.

Weather might have a say in Tuesday's schedule - but if the games get played - a trip to Piurek is in order - Hamden - West Haven - oh Baby!
