Governor Lamont closed Connecticut Schools for the rest of the school year. Immediately after that, the CIAC canceled all Spring High School Sports in the state. The CIAC said they will now focus on completing guidelines for Summer contact and resocialization of CIAC Fall Sports.
The 2020 Nutmeg State Games scheduled for June, July and August in New Britain have been canceled.
The NFL will release their 2020 Schedule Thursday night. The league will start in early September and play a full 17 week schedule.
The NBA is supporting a study by the Mayo Clinic that uses blood testing to detect potential Coronavirus antibodies. This will contribute to a COVID-19 vaccine.
The NFL and NAIA(National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) are making plans towards having women's flag football become a sanctioned college sport by 2021. A minimum of 40 schools must have teams for a full championship to be held.
