It was a solo trip to Hamden on Sunday - Orange at Hamden - Orange needed to beat Hamden twice to advance.
Hamden decided there would be no second game as they won the 1st game and the Pod Championship 6-0. Hamden scored all 6 runs in the 5th inning. Sean Mcgarry was the winning pitcher. He went 5 2/3 innings and allowed no runs on 5 hits and didn't walk anybody.
Jake Jovia had 2 hits, scored a run and had an rbi, and Brayden Sullivan had a double and a single for Hamden.
Hamden advances to the Regionals in Bethel starting Tuesday night.
Also joining Hamden in the Southern Regionals: Tri-County, Madison and Wallingford
One team will come out of the Regionals in Bethel and 1 team from the Regionals in East Hartford.
The Championship Game will be played Sunday, August 4 at 1:00pm at Ceppa Field in Meriden.

Cheshire 4 Hamden 3(Hamden eliminated); Stamford 9 Naugatuck 5
Monday: Cheshire vs. Naugatuck 6:30pm at Ceppa Field in Meriden in an elimination game.
In the North: Waterford 6 East Hartford 5(East Hartford eliminated); Southington 5 Bristol 2
Monday: Waterford vs. Bristol in an elimination game.
