Week 1 of the High School Football Season is now history.
When the new Poll is released, there will be a new #1 team, since the Preseason Poll #1 team, New Canaan, was beaten on Saturday. As a matter of fact, they were shutout 28-0 by St. Joseph. The Cadets looking at the #1 slot. The other team that lost in the Top 10 Poll was #7 Windsor, losing to Maloney 26-20.
So things scrambled already after just 1 week in the season.
Sheehan defeated Jonathan Law 48-14 in the Broadcast Game. The game was 7-7 and then the Titans scored 41 unanswered points to salt the game away.
Other winners in the SCC included: Fairfield Prep, Wilbur Cross, Shelton, Hand, North Haven, Amity, East Haven, Branford and Hamden. North Branford, Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, Naugatuck, Southington, Middletown and Hopkins all tasted victory as well.
Week 2 will begin on Thursday night with a pair of games.
