Yanks Lose, Red Sox Rally, Mets Win; Curtain Goes Up on NFL Season

The Yankees lost to Oakland again 8-2 on Wednesday night. Luis Severino was the losing pitcher. Gary Sanchez homered for New York. Severino had 2 wild pitches and Sanchez 2 passed balls in the 1st inning when Oakland scored 4 runs.

The Red Sox rallied from a 7-1 deficit to beat the Braves 9-8. Boston scored 6 runs in the 8th inning to tie the game at 7, fell behind 8-7 in the 8th, but won it in the top of the 9th with 2 outs on a Brandon Phillips 2 run Home Run. It was Phillips first at bat in the Major League this season.

The Mets beat the Dodgers 7-3. Zack Wheeler was the winning pitcher. Amed Rosario had 3 hits and an rbi and Wilmer Flores had 2 hits and 2 rbis for the Mets.
