Red Sox Sweep Yankees Out of Boston

The Boston Red Sox completed a 4 game sweep of the New York Yankees winning 5-4 in 10 innings on Sunday night. Boston now has a 9 1/2 game lead over New York in the AL East. 

The Yankees led 4-1 going to the bottom of the 9th, but Boston rallied for 3 runs to tie the game, then won it in the 10th when Andrew Benintendi singled home the game winning run. Boston's record is an astounding 79-34. 

The Yankees had not been swept by the Red Sox in a 4 game series since 1939.

The Mets lost to the Braves 5-4 in 10 innings at Citi Field. The Mets trailed 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th, but Devin Mesoraco homered to tie the game. However, Nick Markakis homered in the top of the 10th for the Braves and that was the game winning rbi.
