Rhode Island Wins Junior Softball Regional Championship

Willy and I went to Orange on Thursday morning to take in the Junior Softball(13-14) Regional Tournament Championship between Rhode Island and New York. It was a best 2 of 3 series.

New York had won the first game on Wednesday 1-0. Rhode Island would need to beat New York twice on Thursday - and that's exactly what they did.

Game 1 - Ava Landow pitched a hitter and Liz Lewandowski drove in the game winning rbi as Rhode Island won 2-1, forcing a third game starting 30 minutes later.

Game 2 - Rhode Island scored 6 runs in the first inning and never looked back in beating New York 10-4.

Rhode Island won the Regional Championship and is now headed to Kirkland, Washington for the Junior Softball World Series.
