Legion 19u Regular Season Ends; Hamden, N Haven, Branford Stratford Advance

A family trip to Branford(you know Willy is getting so good now at the games) to see Hamden and Branford in the finale. Branford needed a win to keep their hopes alive for a 2nd place finish in Zone 2 and hope North Haven lost to Orange.

Well, Branford did their part. They scored 3 runs in the 1st, 2 runs in the 2nd and never looked back as they defeated the Zone 2 Champs 8-1.

Alphonse Suppa was the winning pitcher. Zach Withington had a great night. He had a single, double and triple, scored 3 runs and had an rbi. Brandon Kilfeather added 2 hits for Branford.

Frank Niro had the lone Hamden rbi. Hamden finished 17-4, Branford 16-5. Both teams will be in the State Tournament.

North Haven needed a win now to secure 2nd Place and they did just that beating Orange 4-0.
