Orange Nips Branford in Zone 2 Legion

A family trip to the Old Tavern Road Complex on Wednesday night to view a Zone 2 battle - Branford at Orange.

It was an exciting game that went down to the final out. Branford had the tying run at 2nd base in the 7th inning.  Orange nipped Branford 4-3 to even their 3 game series 1-1.

Ben Lodewick was the winning pitcher. Jonathan McNelis had 2 hits, scored a run and had an rbi, Peter Spodnick had an rbi as well as Edward Criscuolo for Orange.

Alphonse Suppa drove in all 3 runs for Branford. Orange is 9-5, Branford 10-3.

Also in Zone 2, North Haven defeated West Haven 6-5.

In Zone 3 games:

Cheshire 9 Guilford 0   Cheshire has clinched the Zone 3 Regular Season Title

Meriden 3 Southington 0

Wallingford 11 Madison 2 Caden Cloutier was the winning pitcher. Sam DeMaio had a double, triple and 4 rbis, Tyler Lyons had an rbi double and Russ Edeen had an rbi double for Wallingford.

Middletown took 2 games from East Haddam.

Little League Softball(11-12) State Tournament begins Thursday in Windsor Locks.

Fairfield will play Seymour at 8pm.

Little League Baseball(11-12) District 4 Baseball Tournament takes the spotlight on Thursday night.

The 2 winners meet for the District 4 Championship Saturday in Milford.

Intra-City rivalry - you gotta love it  - one part of Milford will be happy - the other part won't
