Yanks, Red Sox Win Still Tied for 1st Place; Mets Lose

The Yankees and Red Sox both won on Sunday afternoon and remained tied for 1st Place in the AL East.

The Yankees beat the Oakland Athletics 6-2. Giancarlo Stanton had 4 hits, including a Home Run, and 3 rbis for New York. Luis Severino(6-1) was the winning pitcher.

The Red Sox defeated the Blue Jays 5-3. J.D. Martinez homered and had 3 rbis for Boston. Hector Velazquez got the win in relief for the Red Sox. The Red Sox will now play 19 of their next 26 games at Fenway Park.

The Mets lost to the Phillies 4-2. Paul Sewald took the loss in relief for New York. Starter Jacob deGrom pitched only 1 inning after throwing 45 pitches.
