Girls Softball: Lyman Hall Beats Sheehan

The first Broadcast of the Spring Season turned out to be a dandy. It was the Battle of Wallingford - Lyman Hall at Sheehan at Pragemann Park before a big crowd.

Lyman Hall defeated Sheehan 4-3 to win the Battle of Wallingford. But what a game.

Sheehan took a 1-0 lead, Lyman Hall tied it at 1, Sheehan took a 2-1 lead, but Lyman Hall scored 3 runs in the 5th inning to take a 4-2 lead and they never gave it up. Sheehan got a run back in the 5th to make it 4-3, loaded the bases in the 6th but could not score, and had the tying run on 2nd base in the 7th, but the runner got thrown out at 3rd base to end the game!

Maddie Shura was the winning pitcher. Sydney Nilson had 2 hits and drove in all 4 Lyman Hall runs. Elise Hastings had 2 hits and scored 2 runs and Samantha Carbone had 2 hits for Lyman Hall, now 3-3.

For Sheehan, Samantha Iannone had 2 hits and an rbi, Carolyn Biel had 2 hits and an rbi and Sydney Hunt had 2 hits.

The rematch is on May 9th at Lyman Hall.

You can WATCH the ENTIRE Game, with the Audio Play by Play, plus the Post Game interview with Sydney Nilson by Brian Goralnik by going to the ESPNradio1300 Facebook Page. The great Video provided by Henry Bien-Aime.
